Our Service To You
When you arrive for your hearing test and consultation you will be warmly greeted by one of our reception staff who will look after you, before being shown through into the comfort of our air-conditioned consulting room for your hearing test.
We begin by getting to know you. We complete a short questionnaire and give you every opportunity to discuss any relevant matters you may wish to mention. We also discuss your lifestyle, which will have a bearing on the type of hearing instrument selected.
This is followed by an otoscopic examination of the ear canal to check for any abnormalities including wax blockage etc. This is a painless procedure which many clients find interesting.
A hearing test is then performed which involves listening to various sounds. Two graphs (audiograms) are then obtained, demonstrating the degree of hearing loss which will be clearly explained to you.
A discussion will then take place regarding the style of hearing instruments available and you will be shown examples. At this stage you will be given a written quotation to take with you. You are then able to discuss this further with any friend or family member should you wish.
Before a custom-made hearing instrument can be built, an impression of the ear is required. This is a painless procedure which provides a cast of the individual ear to enable the manufacturer to cutom-fit your hearing instrument. Some open-ear instruments can however be fitted without the need for an impression.
A hearing instrument can typically be manufactured and fitted within two weeks and this is followed by very thorough follow-up program to ensure you get the very best from you new hearing instrument.
